Personality:
Tsunayoshi Sawada is probably not the type of person most people would pick to be in the mafia, much less the boss. He's non-athletic, clumsy, not particularly smart, and extremely unlucky. And he not only knows this about himself, he has come to accept it. Being considered dame-Tsuna by his classmates for so long has bred in him a kind of defeatist attitude. He is quick to try to give up when things get difficult, although this always results in a punishment from Reborn. He's not competitive and has very little pride, and so never has any problem accepting that other people are stronger or smarter than him. Tsuna also possesses few personal ambitions. Before he met Reborn, even talking to the girl he liked was a distant dream. This rampant pessimism is, more than any lack of ability, what winds up holding him back. Actually, there's a clear measure of how much he's grown under Reborn's training when he's trying perfect a new technique in the future arc. Reborn asks him if he think it will be ready on time, and he says 'maybe.' Before, that kind of question would have gotten a 'no' or 'that's impossible' in response.
Tsuna is also fairly emotional person. He's easily frightened, often choosing to panic as a first reaction to any crisis. And he's just as easily impressed, often viewing the abilities of his friends and opponents as incredible while somehow having no real pride in his own. He also tends to be the first (and often only) one to get upset or frustrated by things that are impractical or senseless, like Reborn's ridiculous 'training' exercises, or having his free time interrupted by things like 'dead' bodies or loose zoo animals. He's also not very good at hiding his emotions, and tends to simply yell when angry, scream when scared, and cry when upset.
Honestly though, Tsuna is actually a pretty amazing person, even if he can't quite see that for himself. He's extremely perceptive, often able to notice things about the people or things around him that others miss. Tsuna is able to tell when people are possessed by Mukuro. When they first meet Chrome, Tsuna is able to sense Mukuro's presence, but is also able to tell that she isn't simply possesed by him. This perceptiveness also makes him a fairly good judge of character, and he often knows when to trust people that seem otherwise shady. He also has strong faith in his friends, and is willing to forgive former enemies fairly quickly.
And, while he isn't the type to fight for personal goals or to prove his strength, there is one thing that he'll risk his life for. Tsuna will always do whatever it takes to protect his friends and family. He will stand up to the most terrifying enemies so that, when the crisis has passed, they can all spend peaceful days together. Even though he has no interest in being a mafia boss himself, he fought Xanxus for the position because he just couldn't allow someone who was so cruel to his subordinates to take over. And really, that kind of position is often best given to people who are able to value the people around them more than pride or material wealth or power. So, in the end, Tsuna is not really a bad candidate for a mafia boss after all.
☆INTERSTELLAR
Choice Instrument: Piano/keyboard, Drums, Bass or rhythm guitar, Lead/vocalist(He would hate being the lead but I think it's funny.)
Rockstar Persona:
Tsuna grew up in a small town in a quiet neighborhood. His mother was struggling to make ends meet after his father took off when Tsuna was a child. As in canon, he was never popular, smart, or athletic. But at least his life was peaceful. As a hobby, he dabbled in music with a friend of his. Tsuna was mostly in it for fun, but his friend was serious about aiming for stardom. Which is how Tsuna got dragged to a talent search competition to provide moral support. They performed as a duo and everything went great. Except the talent scouts wanted Tsuna. Just Tsuna. His friend was furious.
In a single afternoon he'd lost his friendship and his peaceful life. He never wanted to be a star, but he really couldn't turn them down. After all, he'd been offered the one thing his friend always wanted. How awful would it be to just toss that aside? And, more practically, the money he makes helps his mother pay the bills.
Interestingly, in order to make Tsuna more fitting for this role, they've had to increase his self esteem. Mostly in relation to his newfound musical talents. On stage he could even be called confident. Less so off stage, but you can't have everything. And, while they couldn't quite get him to want the spotlight, he's very accepting of his new life and quite loyal to the very generous label who gave it to him. He always shows up on time to shows, practice sessions, and whatever other publicity nonsense his manager sets up. He's really quite reliable in that regard.
When he's not on the clock though, Tsuna is actually pretty lazy. He prefers not to exert any effort toward anything besides his career. He's also a little more cynical about friendship, considering he lost his only close friend over this whole stardom thing.
Ideal CR: I'll work with anything. At least one supportive person would be nice, or maybe someone pushy, to nudge him forward when he hesitates. Even people to just pick on him would be pretty great.
